Job Summary:
The Validation SR Principal/Chief Engineer is responsible for leading a team of software
validation engineers for complete end-to-end feature validation. He/She will collaborate with different stakeholders: customers, management, engineering, and other validation teams to ensure that all customer requirements are validated. In addition to validation, he/she is expected to support the test strategy/process definition for the validation team.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Define SW validation plans for assigned projects.
- Lead a group of software validation engineers.
- Estimate efforts and assess risks.
- Analyze the requirements for testability.
- Design and deploy test environments according to the project's needs.
- Design, automate, and execute test cases.
- Test reporting at different levels: test team, development team, and management levels.
- Continuous communication of work progress on a weekly/daily basis as needed.
- Conduct technical reviews on test artifacts.
- Contribute to the company’s test process and strategy.
- Train and support team members on processes, methodologies, and tools.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Engineering or Computer Science Bachelor Degree.
- At least 8+ years of overall experience in software testing.
- At least 5+ years in automotive embedded software testing (validation and integration testing).
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems and testing techniques.
- Experience with scripting languages (Python, Perl, etc.).
- Experience in requirements and testing management (e.g., using DOORS/JIRA).
- Experience in automotive bus technologies and diagnostics.
- Experience with vector tools (CANoe, vTeststudio, CAPL scripting).
- Experience with a HIL tester.
- Experience in implementing and maintaining Aspice processes.
- Experience working on Agile projects.
- Experience with the C# or Java programming language is a plus.
- Experience working in Autosar projects is a plus.
- Different levels of ISTQB certificates are a plus.
- Experience in leading, coaching, and mentoring validation teams.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
- Result-oriented.
- Ability to learn and travel.
- Good command of English is a must, and German is a plus.
